Travel Health Nurse – Milton Keynes

We currently have a Travel Health Nurse vacancy for a zero-hour bank nurse in our Milton Keynes clinic, with additional support for our Milton Keynes and Cambridge clinics (if required). Registered Nurse with experience in general nursing and ideally experience in travel health (although not entirely necessary as full training will be given). Personal experience of travel and an interest in travel medicine is beneficial. Travel Health Nurse – Milton Keynes

Description:

The job holder will be responsible for:
  • Providing travel health clinic services within the scope of the MASTA & Nomad Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
  • Providing risk assessment, advice, administering vaccinations, malaria prophylaxis and other travel related medicines within the framework of MASTA/Nomad Patient Group Directions. Managing CQC requirements.
  • Utilising our internal e-clinic software to provide up to date information and maintain accurate customer records.
  • Ensuring good communication within the clinical team and a safe environment for the delivery of clinical services in MASTA/Nomad clinics.
Essential Skills:
  • Registered Nurse with experience in vaccinations and travel health.
  • Personal experience of travel and an interest in travel medicine is beneficial.
  • An understanding of the regulatory and governance frameworks within healthcare.
  • Experience in clinical consultation, vaccine administration and venepuncture (or willingness to learn).
  • Computer literacy is essential as is the ability to work as part of a team, be enthusiastic, conscientious, well organised and have a willingness to learn new skills.
Shifts available Monday – Saturday’s, with some Saturday working to be expected.
  • Pay: Competitive.
